Common Problems

Please find below list of common issues that may occur during an install, for specific error messages please email supportau@mindscape.com.au please ensure that your email includes the full error message received, details of your operating system and anti-virus. The more information that is provided the quicker the issue can be resolved. Also you should try checking the forums in our Product Support page.

Problem:

Installer does not automatically open

Solution:

Please read the following instructions for performing a manual install:

Open up the start menu,
Click on My Computer
Right click on the dvd/cd drive that the disc is in,
Then select explore or expand,
Double click on the setup.exe or application file.

 

Problem:

When trying to install your program, and your CD/DVD ROM is not reading in the drive OR you have a combination drive (CD and DVD ROM Drive) and nothing happens.

Solution:

First try performing a manual install, if this does not resolve the issue then a burnt copy will read better in the drive. Please burn a copy of the CD or contact Mindscape and we will burn you a copy.

 

Problem:

The following message appears: "Insufficient Disk Space."

Solution:

The issue typically occurs on computers when more than one gigabyte of free hard drive space is available.

Complete the following steps:

1. Insert the CD into the proper drive to begin the installation.
2. At the "Choose Destination Location" screen, press and hold the CTRL key on the computer keyboard.
3. With the CTRL key pressed, click Next at the bottom of the Install window.
4. Release the CTRL key. The program installation will begin.

 

Problem:

Software has installed but application will not open.

Solution:

Click on Start button in the bottom left corner of your screen,
Select computer or my computer,
Single click on the drive that the disc is in, this will select it,
Then right click and select Explore or Open in New Window,
There you should be able to locate a .EXE or Application file.
Double click this and it will run through the install wizard.

 

Problem:

Administrator error message during the installation process

Solution:

Go to Control Panel,
Select User Accounts from the list,
Ensure that the account you are in is Admin,
If not then click Properties button,
Choose the Group Member tab,
Tick the box for Other,
And choose Administrator from the drop menu

Once complete please open the disc folder to view files,
Right click on Setup.exe,
Click Run As...,
Untick the box "Protect my Computer..."
Choose "Run As Administrator"
